MS or MultipleSclerosis is a neurological condition that affects the brain, optic nerves and spinalcord causing a range of symptoms such as problems with #balance, vision and muscle control. The symptoms of MS can be different from one person to another.
With MS, the immune system attacks the CNS and creates an inflammatory response.
When a person is living with MS, their ImmuneSystem attacks and damages:
Myelin, the fatty substance that surrounds and insulates the nerve fibers;
Axons, long, threadlike parts of a nerve cell;
Oligodendrocytes, the cells that make myelin. The cause of #MS is currently unknown, and at the moment there is no cure. However, research is progressing quickly in the hope of finding one.
